History
What started small
grew with purpose.
Gilmer began as a family-run operation with one warehouse and a straightforward goal: provide dependable logistics without unnecessary complexity. Founded in 1986 by Thomas J. Gilmer after 17 years at Anheuser-Busch, the company grew from a small startup into one of the largest family-owned 3PL providers in the Southeast.

At Gilmer, sustainability is part of how we do business. From recycling materials to reducing waste, we’re always looking for smarter, cleaner ways to operate. We reuse cardboard, plastic, and packaging materials whenever possible—and we divert unusable food products away from landfills by compacting and repurposing them elsewhere.
